Broccoli (Brassica oleracea botrytis cymosa) is a vegetable related to cauliflower. The florets on the head are actually the flowers that haven’t fully developed and are usually dark green to bluish green in color.

Origin

This type of cabbage originally comes from Asia Minor and is now grown around the world. The best qualities are harvested in the highlands of Ecuador thanks to the region’s constant, mild climate.

Harvest period

Year-round in Ecuador, otherwise in the fall.

Production

Freshly harvested, hand-cut, round florets that have not yet blossomed (at least 80% intact) with a short stem, are blanched, individually quick frozen (IQF), packaged, sealed, and metal-detected.

Information

We offer various calibrations and packaging options.

Uses

In soups, in casseroles, in ready-to-eat meals, in salads, and as a pizza topping.
