Paprika
The paprika belongs to the nightshade family. Both the plant as well as the fruit are referred to as paprika. There are also additional names, especially for the fruit, which indicate differences in their spice level, size also the colour. Most varieties contain the substance Capsaicin, which is responsible for the spiciness, but the level is different from variety to variety. Hardly any other vegetable can be used in so many ways in the kitchen. Whether as a side dish, filled with various options or as a healthy snack - paprika is an almost daily companion.
